Canada's Beef Standard Provides Quality Guarantee

Canada’s commitment to quality is of paramount importance. It is the reason Canada has established such stringent grading standards for beef and subsequently become a global leader in beef grading. We adhere to the Canadian Beef Grading System, which guarantees consistency in the end product.

We go above and beyond the standard

For accuracy and consistency of beef grading we utilize a state-of-art computer vision grading camera complimented by the entrusted oversight of officials from the Canadian Beef Grading Agency (CBGA). There are also three yield class designations related to the amount of lean muscle in the original carcass after harvest.

Canada/U.S. Marbling & Quality Grade Standards*

* The Canadian marbling standards were changed in 1996 to mirror the copyrighted marbling standards of the United States. The minimum marbling standards used for USDA Prime (slightly abundant), Choice (small) and Select (slight) are the same minimum standards used in Canada to segregate the youthful quality carcasses into Canada Prime, AAA and AA respectively.

** Minimum marbling permitted for quality grade class.
